Bristol Wedding Photographer

Natural wedding photography
in Bristol and Bath
— with coverage across Somerset and the wider South West
Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas offer an incredible mix of wedding days — from stylish city celebrations and historic venues to relaxed countryside gatherings and gloriously hard-to-define parties.

My approach is calm, documentary and people-focused. I photograph the day as it unfolds, creating natural and candid images without turning your wedding into a photoshoot.
You spend the day with your people. I make sure the memories come back with you.
Just atmosphere, laughter, connection and the small in-between moments that often become the photographs people value most years later.

Whether you’re planning something elegant, alternative, traditional or completely your own, the aim is always the same: honest photographs that still feel like your day when you look back at them.

Looking for a Wedding Photographer in Bristol?

Whether you’re planning a city wedding, registry office ceremony, pub celebration or something completely your own, I photograph weddings in a calm documentary style.

Relaxed portraits if wanted. Real moments always.

Bristol suits couples who want personality, atmosphere and a wedding that feels like theirs rather than someone else’s template.

Wedding Photography Across Bristol and Beyond

I regularly photograph weddings in Bristol as well as across Bath, Somerset and the surrounding areas.
That includes everything from city ceremonies and historic venues to countryside celebrations, festival-style weddings and days that don’t quite follow a script.
Different places, different setups, different energy — the approach stays the same.
Whether you’re getting married in the centre of Bristol or somewhere further out, I focus on what’s actually happening rather than trying to control it — and that’s what makes the photographs feel real.

Why Some Couples Choose a Documentary Approach to Their Wedding Photography

People often think they need to “do something” to get good wedding photos — pose, follow instructions, step away from the day every now and then. In reality, it tends to work the other way round. The less you interfere with what’s already happening, the better it looks in the photographs.

A documentary approach, at least in the way I work, means not directing or staging what’s already happening. The only time I step in is for quick group photos or a few relaxed portraits — and even those are kept simple and short.

You can spend the day with your guests, stay present in what’s actually happening, and trust that it’s enough. The result isn’t a collection of staged moments, but a record of how the day really felt — the atmosphere, the energy, and everything that would be impossible to recreate later.

Meet Your Bristol Wedding Photographer

Hi, I’m Tom.
I’m based in Cardiff and regularly photograph weddings across Bristol and the South West.

My style is relaxed, observant and unobtrusive. I won’t dominate the day or turn your wedding into a production. I’d rather let things happen naturally and be ready when they do.

If you’d rather enjoy your wedding than perform in it, we’ll probably get along very well.

Kind Words from Couples

Choosing a wedding photographer is about trust as much as style. Here’s what couples have said about their experience.

★★★★★
“Amazing, incredible – just what we wanted! Tom was hilarious and kept everyone at our wedding day chilled out and happy. The photos are just perfect – candid and so full of life. It’s like re-living the day all over again everytime we look through the photos. If you’re on the fence about hiring a documentary-style photographer, just do it – the photos he captured are beautiful and he caught some of our most natural and raw emotions. Plus, we didn’t have to spend hours posing when all we wanted to do was be with each other and our guests. Thank you so much for everything Tom!”

★★★★★
“We were so pleased with Tom’s photos which perfectly captured the day and so many happy memories. Every element of the day was caught on camera without the need for any posed shots. Tom was also great at communicating with us, arrived early and got the photos to us within a week which was perfect for us to look through on our honeymoon. He even got soaked in the rain ensuring he caught every aspect of ceremony! Giving us pictures that will make us smile for years to come.”
