What Is the Glamorgan Spotlight by the WPJA?
The Glamorgan Spotlight is part of the Wedding Photojournalist Association’s monthly features, shining a light on exceptional wedding photography in the region. It’s not about pretty poses and stiff smiles – it’s about real, unfiltered moments. Photographers chosen for this Spotlight are recognised for creativity, documentary-style storytelling, and the ability to capture the true spirit of a wedding day. Here is my full WPJA Glamorgan Spotlight feature.

Why This Recognition Means So Much
Some photographers love calling themselves “award-winning” – and sometimes that’s because they’ve paid for the plaque. I’ve promised myself I’ll never go down that road. No “buy one, get an award free” here. That’s why having six of my photographs selected for the WPJA Glamorgan Spotlight means so much. I suppose this now makes me a genuinely award-winning Cardiff and South Wales wedding photographer – with an award that’s been earned, not bought – thanks to the WPJA Glamorgan Spotlight recognition.
These images were chosen by independent, international judges – professionals who know exactly what to look for in candid wedding photography. For someone who’s still a newcomer to the WPJA, being featured alongside photographers with years of accolades feels like a pretty good debut. If you’d like to know more about my work within the WPJA community, have a look at my official WPJA photographer profile.
Glamorgan Wedding Photographer – Why It’s Worth Mentioning
On my homepage, I focus on “Cardiff wedding photographer” – that’s where most couples start their search. But Glamorgan isn’t just a name on a map; it’s full of couples planning their weddings, looking for someone local who understands the area. By including “Glamorgan wedding photographer” and “South Wales wedding photographer” here on the blog, I’m simply making it easier for those couples to find me. And yes, Google likes that variety too.
What This Means for My Couples
Whether you’re tying the knot in Cardiff, celebrating somewhere across Glamorgan, or saying “I do” in a tucked-away South Wales village, I’ll be there – camera in hand, eyes open for those fleeting, unrepeatable moments. The WPJA Spotlight feature isn’t the end goal, it’s just another step in doing what I love: documenting weddings honestly, creatively, and with just enough humour to make you forget the camera’s even there.

A great post! It’s refreshing to see recognition for genuine, candid wedding photography. Photographers like Hawaiian Shirt Photography have also been focusing on this honest, storytelling style across the UK.
Thanks a lot! Totally agree — candid photography has that magic of showing people as they really are. I recently wrote a piece about how candid wedding photography captures the real you, and it’s amazing how often couples say those are the photos they love most.
