About the Wedding Guide

Good information from people with something useful to say.
Wedding professionals arranging flowers, decorations and reception tables at a wedding venue before the celebration.
The Wedding Guide is a growing collection of useful advice, ideas and inspiration for couples planning their wedding — created with contributions from people who actually work in the wedding industry.
Rather than trying to tell you how your wedding should look, the aim is to help you understand your options, discover new possibilities and make choices that feel right for you.

Knowledge from People Who Know Weddings

Florists know flowers. Celebrants know ceremonies. Hair stylists know what happens when British weather meets carefully planned curls. Caterers, musicians, photographers, planners and venue teams all see a different side of weddings — much of which rarely fits neatly onto a services page.
The Wedding Guide gives wedding professionals and suppliers a place to share what they’ve learned through their work directly with couples — through articles rooted in real experience.

Advice, Ideas and Different Perspectives

There is rarely only one way to plan a wedding. What works brilliantly for one couple might make absolutely no sense for another.
That is why the Guide brings together different voices from across the wedding industry. Some articles will answer practical questions and explain things worth knowing before the day. Others will introduce ideas, possibilities and inspiration you may not have considered.
The goal isn’t to provide a rulebook. It’s to give you better information before you make your own decisions.

Meet the People Behind the Articles

The Wedding Guide isn’t just about useful information. It’s also about the people who share it.
The professionals contributing to the Wedding Guide aren’t anonymous experts hiding behind a website. Each article connects to the person behind it, giving you the opportunity to learn more about their experience, their work and their perspective on weddings.
You can also explore the Wedding Suppliers directory, where you’ll find both contributing experts and other wedding professionals. Some have detailed profiles showcasing their work, while others offer a brief introduction to their business.
Whether you’re looking for practical advice, a fresh perspective or someone to help with your wedding, the Wedding Guide is about connecting you with real people who know their craft.

For Wedding Professionals

The Wedding Guide is also a place for wedding professionals to share genuine expertise with couples beyond the usual sales pitch.
Contributions are about being useful first — answering questions couples regularly ask, explaining something about your part of the wedding day, challenging a common misconception or simply introducing an idea worth considering.

If you work in the wedding industry, we’d love to have you on board. Whether you’re a florist, celebrant, photographer, wedding planner, venue owner or another wedding professional, there’s a place for your business in the Wedding Guide.
Getting started is easy. You can join the Wedding Suppliers directory with a free Quick Listing in just 3 minutes, or create a Full Profile to introduce your business and showcase your work in more detail. You don’t need to write articles to take part — although if you have knowledge, experience or an interesting perspective to share, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
The Wedding Guide is an evolving project. As more professionals join, the directory will continue to grow, with new features planned to help couples discover suppliers and explore their services more easily.
The aim is simple: good information from people with something useful to say.

Who’s Behind the Wedding Guide?

The Wedding Guide was created by Tom Zelinsky, a wedding photographer who has spent rather a lot of time behind the scenes at weddings and noticed just how much goes into making them happen.
Photographing weddings means observing more than couples and their guests. Over the years, Tom has watched all sorts of wedding professionals at work — and seen the results of work done by others who may never appear on the wedding day at all, from cake designers and stationers to the people responsible for countless carefully planned details.
It began with a simple idea: no single corner of the wedding industry has all the answers. Different professionals see weddings from very different angles — and those perspectives are worth bringing together.
The result is a guide designed to grow with every new contributor, article and perspective.
